Objective: Students will be able to explain the details in a fraction by naming the parts of a fraction. Students will be able to simplify fraction solutions.

Assessment: Teacher assessment, sections quiz

Activity: Students will create an interactive notebook page and then, using m and m’s on a poster, will find out the fractional amounts of colors in each of their individual bags. (This could also be done without m and m’s or with another type of snack.)
